Random Thoughts

It is Wednesday and therefore it is time for my random thoughts!

I wish I could remember to write down all the random thoughts I have, because honestly my head is a constant stream of random thoughts that are not related to each other AT ALL. My ex-boyfriend used to think this was hilarious because we would be talking about something and I would bust out with something completely unrelated but had somehow popped up in my mind as a result of one word in the conversation we were having.

That's me. Totally random.

Anyway, Wednesdays are for my random thoughts, so here they are!

- There should we widely universally accepted principles regarding the scheduling of meetings. Twice this week my lunchtime plans were interrupted by a 1pm meeting. It's simple really. There should be no meetings scheduled before 9, after 3 (especially on Friday), or between the hours of 12 and 2. I realize that this leaves very little actual time for meeting, but it's a rule everyone should adhere to. No one is awake enough to focus before 9 or after 3 and when all you can think about is how soon you can get the fuck out of this meeting to go inhale your lunch, whatever you're meeting about becomes irrelevant over the growl of your stomach.

- First World and Third World. Common phrases...but what ever happened to Second World? Is there even such a thing? What country could be classified as "second world?"

- I am really sick of oatmeal for breakfast. I bring it everyday to work because it transports and reheats well. I leave my house pretty early in the morning (before the sun is even up, UGH) and I am never hungry at that hour, so eating before I leave is just not going to happen, thus eliminating eggs of any kind. I do enjoy cereal, but I need something with more of a protein kick. I can add protein powder to oatmeal, but not so much to the cereal. Anyone have any ideas here?

- I am beyond excited to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D. It is in my top 5 Disney movies (yes, I have an actual list that I have put a lot of thought into). How scary will the Beast be in 3D??? I guess I should probably offer to take my bestie's kids in an effort to disguise just how badly I want to see it, just like I did with the Muppets, huh?

- I like being sore after a workout. It lets me know I worked hard and makes me feel good about myself. However, I hate being so sore that I groan like an old lady just sitting down on the toilet. Going to the bathroom should never hurt. But it does today.

  1. You need to make the mini egg muffins I make. I make a batch on Sunday and bring them in to heat up all week. Only takes a min to heat up!

Also, I AM DYING. I AM SO SORE. my arms, legs, butt, back, every inch of my body!

  2. I'm trying to figure out how I can go see B&B 3D myself... I have no friends with children. I may just go alone on saturday afternoon. Also, I cannot shift gears in my car without cringing.

  3. My company is national. The headquarters is in California. They like morning meetings there, so this often means central and eastern totally get screwed out of a lunch.

  4. I take breakfast to work as well, usually in the form of overnight oats (sorry), hardboiled eggs/cereal/fruit or yogurt/cereal/fruit. Sometimes you have to get creative too. Take sandwich things like nut butter sandwiches or rice bowls.

There should never be any meetings anytime anywhere. Problem solved.

  5. I don' think meetings should be scheduled at 11 a.m. either. I'm always hungry for lunch by then, and if it ran into the 12 o'clock hour I'd get homicidal.

  6. I have to do a quick poll of my friends with children to see who I can "tag along" with bc I am 100% going to see that shit.
And you should try the Ezekiel sprouted grain english muffins with peanut butter. Protein, good carbs and you can leave it all at work. Winner!

  7. Random Jeopardy knowledge: the former Soviet Union is the second world. During the Cold War, the US was the "First World", the USSR was the "Second World" and everything else was the "Third World", aka the parties not directly involved in the nuclear arms race. Once the USSR fell, we were left with only the First World and the Third World, and nuclear proliferation and economic disparity became the delineation between First and Third World countries. This fact brought to you by the Political Science second major I am still paying for.

I'm not even making excuses; I'm seeing B&TB 3D if I have to go alone!

  8. I second Jess- that's my breakfast at work almost every morning. Keeps me full longer than you'd think. Also, I love that Caitlin threw out the 2nd world knowledge- I had no clue either!

  9. FYI- Caitlin is awesome for the history lesson.

I boil 8-10 eggs every Sunday. I hate the yoke, all other forms of eggs don't re-heat well, so the hard boiled egg is the way to go. And they're safe to eat til Friday. I pair it with a piece of whole wheat toast and a slice of cheddar (or whatever kind of cheese I'm in the mood for). Simple, filling, not a mess.

  10. This live trainer thing sounds ridiculous. The only things everyone keeps writing about it is how much it sucks and how sore they are. Y'all better have bangin' bodies once it's all said and done because anything that's making everyone this miserable hardly seems worth it.

For breakfast, make a fried egg sandwich on a whole wheat english muffin. It takes two seconds to fry an egg and you can just wrap it in Reynolds Wrap to go!

  11. I like being sore after a work out as well which confuses me b/c I'm sore but haven't worked out since Monday. Go figure.

Regarding breakfast-how about liquid egg whites? You just nuke them for 30-60 seconds and plop them on an english muffin and you're all set! When I feel like spending money to buy the liquid egg whites (I know its $4 but still, chaps my ass) thats the main thing I use them for.
